Memoir Class

What’s your story to tell? Let me help you tell yours. Join us in turning your memories into a memoir through guided journaling and writing exercises. A gift to yourself or for your family! No writing experience required. Classes will resume in person in September 2022 as well as virtually on Zoom. Taught by me, Kelli Wheeler, award-winning family columnist and author of DON’T FORGET YOUR LUNCH, DIAPERS TO DIPLOMA PARENTING WISDOM and MOMSERVATIONS: THE FINE PRINT OF PARENTING.

We meet once a week in the morning for an hour in person on Tuesdays or virtually on Thursdays. The 9-month class (take all classes or just some, start any time) starts September 6, 2022 through May 2023. Registration begins for in person at Gibbons Community Center, Sacramento in August at For virtual, register here. At only $30 a month it is a tremendous value to bring your story to life!

Indru Kriplani and his book: A Life Lived on My Terms: From India to America Spanning 12,000 Miles

Maren Smith and her book: Blending Two Cultures Under One Roof: Memoirs for My Boys

This fall will be my 4th year teaching the class, with a student average age of 75 years old and two at 90+! I have helped 6 of my students publish their books through Amazon, I Street Press and another local printer. “Publishing” can also just mean collecting your stories in a binder to gift to family and friends – leading to dozens more successful publishings. Bonus: You can do it from anywhere! We have national and international students in our virtual Beginning Memoir Class!
