A Mommy Modified Christmas Carol for Thanksgiving

Momservation: Thanksgiving might just be a celebration of everything kids won’t eat.

☺        ☺        ☺

On the first day of Thanksgiving my true love gave to me:

One mom from Montana sleeping on the top bunk.

On the second day of Thanksgiving my true love gave to me:

Two kids with a week off school bouncing off the walls.

On the third day of Thanksgiving my true love gave to me:

A brother from Barstow bringing his unpotty-trained rescue dog.

On the fourth day of Thanksgiving my true love gave to me:

An aunt and a grandma from Monterey bouncing the kids from their beds.

On the fifth day of Thanksgiving my true love gave to me:

A Grampa from across the street who wants to join all the fun.

On the sixth day of Thanksgiving my true love gave to me:

A cousin and her family stopping for Thanksgiving on the way to Lake Tahoe.

Happy Thanksgiving. May you survive it.

On the seventh day of Thanksgiving my true love gave to me:

A family friend from Sunnyvale with family too far away needing a surrogate family.

On the eighth day of Thanksgiving my true love gave to me:

A mother-in-law who offered her house because I don’t have enough room for all these people.

On the ninth day of Thanksgiving my true love gave to me:

A couple of cats I’m house sitting for my neighbors down the street.

On the tenth day of Thanksgiving my true love gave to me:

A surprise guest because, what the heck, might as well add one more

On the eleventh day of Thanksgiving my true love gave to me:

An entry in Run to Feed the Hungry Thanksgiving morning because what was I thinking when I said I’d do it?

On the twelfth day of Thanksgiving my true love gave to me:

A Fresh & Easy Holiday Meal Made Easy* when I realize I need to feed all these people the night BEFORE Thanksgiving too.

*Thanks Fresh & Easy for saving me from myself. I’ll be back for Christmas to look like a rock star with your delicious December Click & Pick Up holiday meals.

It was our only group photo that year – I’m not even in it! At least you made the A-list! BTW, not too late to crash the Thanksgiving… xo
